Here are some tools and information to guide you.
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
Interface is the first carpet-tile manufacturer in Europe to achieve a third-party-verified EPD, which provides comprehensive, uniform details about a product’s composition and environmental impact throughout its lifecycle and gives customers the tools they need to review and compare alternatives. We’re committed to this level of detail and transparency and aim to have all Interface products covered by an EPD by 2012.
Environmental data sheets – a quick overview
The environmental data sheet has been developed to give a quick and fact-based overview of the main environmental impacts for each of the Interface products throughout all phases of their life cycle. It also highlights product features and services that help reduce the overall environmental impact. Furthermore, the data sheet lists how the product can help contribute towards major green building schemes and gives details about third party verification of the environmental claims made.

Scrutinising every phase of the lifecycle
Interface has used life cycle assessment (LCA) since 2000 to assess the environmental performance of our products. LCA studies all the impacts throughout the life of a carpet tile – from extraction, production and manufacturing to transport, customer use, maintenance and disposal. In other words, it tells the entire story, revealing the environmental impacts at every phase. This clarifies where the biggest improvements can be made, and it prevents companies from cherry-picking only the good stuff.
